Hey there fellow readers, welcome to your weekly SEO news. Let’s see what SEO updates do we have for today.
Google’s John Mueller was recently asked about AI-based content creation tools that create SEO-optimized content without any effort. Would they rank higher?
In response, Google’s John Mueller said that content written by an AI tool would not rank higher on Google. Additionally, he replied saying most sites have trouble creating higher-quality content, however, they don’t need help creating low-quality content.
Phew, thankfully the machines are not taking over…….JUST YET!
Google’s John Mueller stated in 2016 that product pricing is not a ranking factor and it seems that has not changed in 2022 as reiterated by Google’s John Mueller in a recent Twitter reply.
Google’s Danny Sullivan then added to that by explaining that the reason why product pricing is not a ranking factor is that product pricing changes all the time, so it wouldn’t be that useful of a ranking signal.
Google’s John Mueller said that it all depends on time. if a link points to a 404 page for a year or so, Google will unlikely count that link again. Hence, there is really no point to go back to redirect them.
However, in certain cases, it might be worthwhile to go back and redirect those links if they are really strong links that link to your site.
As for link that points to a 404 page for only a short amount of time, you can go back and add redirect those backlinks individually.
That’s all for this week’s SEO News. What do you think about this week’s news? Are you glad that the machines are not taking over? Comment below and let me know. See you next week!
