Google May 2022 Broad Core Update | May 2022 week 4

By on May 27, 2022

Hey there SEO-people, welcome to another week of SEO News Weekly. Let’s look into the topic that we have for this week, shall we?

  • Google May 2022 Broad Core Update

As you can see, there is not much SEO news for this week in terms of quantity but let’s aim for quality, shall we?

25/5 – Google May 2022 Broad Core Update

As some of you may already know, Google recently announced that they are coming out with a Broad Core Update.

The new update was announced late on the 25th of May and will take between 1 to 2 weeks for the update to be fully rolled out.

So, what does this mean for webmasters and SEOs? Well, it is too early to tell just yet. According to the forums, it seems the best thing that you can do now is to sit back, observe your website’s traffic and wait for the update to be fully rolled out, and then evaluate your SERP ranking.

Reacting too hastily to the update will only be detrimental to your website as they update has not been fully released just yet.

So let the dust settle before doing anything to your website.

What is Google’s advice?

Well, Google recommends that any webmasters that had their website affected by the update look into re-writing some of their content and incorporate more E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) factors into it.

Whether this actually works? I will leave this to you to evaluate. Although I must admit that I’ve seen both sides of the argument. From people who say that this is helpful advice to some who think this is pointless.

Does this seem to only affect informational websites?

Looking through forums, it seems that most of the websites up to the point that I am writing this post, which are affected by Google Core Update are mostly informational websites.

Whether this is just a coincidence? It is still too early to tell.

That’s it!

That is all for this week’s SEO news fellow readers. Have you been affected by the recent Google Core Update? What do you think about the update? Yay or Nay? Do let me know in the comments below.
