Google: Dynamic Rendering Only A Temporary Workaround | August 2022 week 2

By sheldonwong on August 12, 2022

Nice to see you again. Welcome to another week of SEO news. We are almost halfway through August, and I’ve got some exciting news for you. Let’s take a look!

  • Google’s People Also Ask section rising while FAQs drop
  • Google: Dynamic rendering is only a temporary workaround
  • New image preview interface on Google Search

8/8 – Google’s People Also Ask section rising while FAQs drop

Recently, RankRanger has reported seeing People Also Ask sections rising to almost 70% of searches.

On the other end of the spectrum, RankRanger has reported that they now see fewer FAQs in Google Search.

Does this mean Google is transitioning to do away with FAQs and shift their full focus on People Also Ask sections? Only time will tell.

New image preview interface on Google Search

Google is introducing a new image preview interface on Google Search. Clicking on an image on a search would not now send users straight to Google Image but would load a preview of the image directly on Google Search itself.

10/8 – Google: dynamic rendering is only a temporary workaround

Google recently updated its help document to say that dynamic rendering is only a temporary workaround, not a permanent solution.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, dynamic rendering is when there are two versions of Javascript-generated content. One is a client-side rendered version for visitors, while the other is a server-side Javascript content that is converted to a static HTML version preferred by the Google bot.

This workaround is for larger websites with many dynamic and Javascript-driven content that search engines have difficulty crawling and indexing.

Google, however, discourages this because there are Javascript features with limitations in Google Search. Some pages may encounter problems with content not showing up in the rendered HTML.

The End!

That is it for today, folks. What do you think about today’s news? Let me know in the comments below.
