2. Google My Business App Updates on New Welcome Message & Displays Message Response Time

12/10/2021 – Google Displays Local Screened Ads & Scrollable Local Reviews

Have you noticed that Google shows local-based screened ads in the local listings when doing a local search?

Sometimes it may appear in more than just one ad. (Look in the screenshot below)

Moreover, you can even scroll through local reviews, like how you can scroll through the images without clicking into the specific business. 

Here is a screen recording where Andy Simpson posted on Twitter that he spotted the scrollable local reviews. 

13/10/2021 – Google Search Results: Rotating Product Images

As stated at the Search On event, Google can now display more visually browsable search results with larger pictures and 3D product images that rotate right in the search result snippet.

This feature appears to be related to the Google search function for 3D/AR images, a widely discussed topic in 2020 and 2019.

We’ve all seen the 3D/AR button in search before, but the option to rotate pictures immediately in the search results, within the snippet, is novel to me.

14/10/2021 – Google Search Exploring Expandable Video Previews

Google is experimenting with expanding video previews in search results. When you move your cursor over a video thumbnail in Google search results, it expands and plays a muted preview.

Google has been making videos slowly and slowly more engaging in Google Search for years.

14/10/2021 – Google My Business App Updates on New Welcome Message & Displays Message Response Time

Google My Business appears to have enhanced the mobile app’s messaging capabilities.

The first is the option to customize your welcome message, and the second is that the app may display your response time to messages from customers.
