Google: Incorporate EAT For Everything | November 2022 Week 4

By sheldonwong on November 25, 2022

Hello readers, welcome to another week of SEO news. How are you preparing for the year-end season? Christmas is just around the corner. Without further delay, here is the week’s SEO news list.

  • Google: incorporate EAT for everything
  • Bing now displays TikTok videos in search results
  • Google testing out sidebar navigation for Google Maps

21/11 – Google: Incorporate EAT For Everything

In an interview, Kim Hyung-Jin, Google’s VP of Search, said that EAT, which stands for Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness, represents the core part of Google Search.

He expressed that EAT should be incorporated in every query and result, and it should be pervasive in everything we do on Google.

However, particular emphasis may be given to your money your life (YMYL) queries, such as looking for a mortgage or when looking for the local ER.

Bing Now Displays TikTok Videos In Search Results

Microsoft Bing now seems to be promoting TikTok videos in their search results. This, considering that TikTok is currently the world’s biggest social media platform, maybe a welcomed move for Microsoft as it tries to etch its way into the Search heartlands.

With such a forward-thinking move, this will surely keep Google on its toes to strive for highly relevant and high-quality content for its users.

Google Testing Sidebar Navigation For Google Maps

A Twitter user has recently reported that Google is currently testing a new thin sidebar navigation on the left of the maps interface.

Among the things that will be included in the sidebar will be the pin icon, the explore tab, trips, saved places, contribute, and more icon.

What do you think about the sidebar navigation? Does it make Google Maps look cleaner?

The End

What do you think about this week’s news? Do you think incorporating EAT for every single aspect of Google Search is good? Do let me know in the comments below.
